Our Curriculum

West Byfleet Junior School is very proud of its inspirational, rich and highly creative curriculum, that it offers all children at West Byfleet Junior School.

The school delivers a rich creative curriculum through thematic topics, which are used by teachers to promote enjoyable, challenging and engaging learning. The emphasis is on both skills and knowledge which show clear progression across all areas of learning and year groups.

Each area of learning, has a clear intent of why we teach it; a carefully considered programme of implementation to match to the intent and each area can demonstrate  clear impact on children and their learning.

At West Byfleet Junior School , The National Curriculum is seen as a minimum requirement and we are justly proud of the many additional opportunities offered to children beyond the National Curriculum, that enhance children's learning experience and create a wonderful foundation for life long learning.

In each and every aspect we aim to present all pupils the best possible access to rich opportunities. Each area of learning is guided and led by school leaders, who have created a vision for excellence in their area and are constantly seeking to develop this.
