Lost Property
The school council has recently implemented a new system to help children and parents locate lost property in our school. We appreciate that replacing lost items can be expensive, so hopefully these guidelines will help.
Below is a summary of how lost property is dealt with at West Byfleet Junior School.
In the unfortunate event that your child does lose something, the teachers will advise them to:
1. Visit the last area they were in. If the item is not there, they should retrace their steps and check all classrooms/areas that they have been in that day.
2. If they have been unable to find their lost item, they should go to check the Lost Property pegs at the end of the Year 3 corridor. Please note that sometimes, it may take a few days before lost items are handed in.
3. If they cannot find it, you can complete this form and school council will do their best to reunite you with the item.
The school council will return labelled items promptly to its rightful owner.
Lost property that is not labelled will be held for up to four weeks. If at the end of this period the lost property is not claimed, it will be donated or recycled.
Please remember that we have lots of children at West Byfleet Junior School. We cannot recognise items as belonging to a particular child if it is not labelled or if the label is illegible.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards
School Council
