Tuck shop

We are excited to introduce our new pupil-led fruit and healthy tuck shop...

🍎 Ginger and Pickles - Grand opening on Friday 10 October! 🍐

Our shop is named after Beatrix Potter's classic 'The Tale of Ginger and Pickles', in which Ginger, a tomcat, and Pickles, a terrier, run a little village shop. In the story, their shop is hugely popular - largely because they offer unlimited credit to all their animal customers, which, unsurprisingly, doesn't end well for the profit margins!

Don't worry, our version of Ginger and Pickles is far more sensible (and better supervised)!

Ginger and Pickles will be open every day at break time, offering a selection of fresh fruit and healthy snacks.

All items will be priced at 50p. Please note that we will not be able to accept 1p or 2p coins.

All our pupil shop assistants will pride themselves on good manners, safe food hygiene, and great customer service!

Why do we have a Tuck Shop in our school?

The principle of our School Council's tuck shop is for children to have the convenience to purchase a snack if they didn't bring one to school, and show children the joy of tasting seasonal high-quality fruit while supporting important and transferable life skills. It is also about encouraging children to engage in positive and friendly interactions and promoting positive behaviour and general well-being.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Yours sincerely
School Council 2025-2026
