Year 5 Forest School
This week at forest school the children mixed up dough to make camp fire bread (dampers). They lit a fire and carefully baked the bread. Finally they used their hand carved willow knives to cut, butter and spread jam on the delicious hot dampers.
Lots of games and team work and humour out in the spring green woods. We even found a special plant which featured on the first of the recent BBC David Attenborough Wild Isles programme. Lords and ladies a plant which traps little flies overnight in a secret chamber where it covers them with pollen until the morning when it sets them free.
