An Ace Opportunity with Andy Murray!
We were thrilled to be part of an unforgettable experience as our Year 4 and selected Year 3 pupils had the incredible opportunity to meet and play tennis with none other than Andy Murray! This special event celebrated the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) milestone of 3,000 newly built community tennis courts.
Hosted at the newly refurbished courts at West Byfleet recreation ground, the children enjoyed inspiring coaching sessions put on by the amazing Byfleet Lawn Tennis Club – and to their delight, Andy Murray himself joined in on the fun, rallying and coaching alongside them. It was a truly memorable day that brought tennis to life for our young athletes.
The event also drew national media attention, with the BBC, The Guardian, and LBC Radio attending to speak with Andy about the impact of social media on young people and professional athletes in today’s world.
A huge thank you to the LTA and Byfleet Lawn Tennis Club for making this inspiring day possible – and to Andy Murray for being such an encouraging and inspiring presence on and off the court!
