Held on Wednesdays and Thursdays after school, in the Hall. Mr Broadbent will be organising choir leading up to a variety of performances throughout the local area and have produced a second CD, which is now on sale from the School Office!! The Choir has approximately 60 on roll from all year groups. We also have been approached by the company 'Real Voices', who are hoping to incorporate us in their future plans, having been impressed by the quality of the voices at W.B.J.S. The choir will be leading a Mid-Summer Soiree in the School Hall for the local community. There is also a concert planned in the local church on the 8th of July, featuring both the Choir and St. John's Junior Choir!
- Winter Wonderland
03/12/2007 11:41:00Over the ground lies a mantle of white,
a heaven of diamonds shine down thro’ the night,
two hearts are thrillin’ in spite of the chill in the weather.
Love knows no season, love knows no clime,
Romance can blossom any old time, here in the open,
We’re walkin’ and hopin’ together!
CHORUS
Sleigh bells ring, are you list’nin’! In the lane snow is glist’nin’,
a beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight,
walkin’ in a winter wonderland!
Gone away is the bluebird, here to stay is a new bird.
He sings a lovesong as we go along,
walkin’ in a winter wonderland!
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown.
He’ll say “Are you married?” We’ll say “No, man!
But you can do the job when you’re in town!”
Later on we’ll conspire, as we dream by the fire,
To face unafraid, the plans that we made,
walkin’ in a winter wonderland!
CHORUS REPEATED!
- Little Donkey
03/12/2007 11:41:00Little Donkey, little donkey, on the dusty road.
Got to keep on plodding onwards, with your precious load.
Been a long time, little donkey, thro’ the winter’s night.
Don’t give up now, little donkey, Bethlehem’s in sight.
Ring out those bells tonight, Bethlehem, Bethlehem.
Follow that star tonight, Bethlehem, Bethlehem.
Little donkey, little donkey, had a heavy day.
Little donkey, carry Mary safely on her way.
Little donkey, little donkey, journey’s end is near.
There are wise men, waiting for a sign to bring them here.
Do not falter, little donkey, there’s a star ahead.
It will guide you, little donkey, to a cattle shed.
Ring out those bells tonight, Bethlehem, Bethlehem.
Follow that star tonight, Bethlehem, Bethlehem.
Little donkey, little donkey, had a heavy day.
Little donkey, carry Mary safely on her way.
Little donkey, carry Mary safely on her way.
(Hum)
- Tomorrow (From
03/12/2007 11:41:00The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!
- The Greatest Love Of All
03/12/2007 11:41:00I believe that children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
Chorus:
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
I believe that children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Chorus
And if by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love
- Thank You For The Music
03/12/2007 11:41:00I'm nothing special, in fact I'm a bit of a bore
If I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before
But I have got a talent, a wonderful thing
'cause everyone listens when I start to sing
I'm so grateful and proud
All I want is to sing it out loud
So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be
Without a song or a dance what are we
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me
Mother says I was a dancer before I could walk
She says I began to sing long before I could talk
And I've often wondered, how did it all start
Who found out that nothing can capture a heart
Like a melody can
Well, whoever it was, I'm a fan
So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be
Without a song or a dance what are we
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me
I've been so lucky, I am the girl with golden hair
I wanna sing it out to everybody
What a joy, what a life, what a chance!
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be
Without a song or a dance what are we
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me
- Rock Around the Shops
03/12/2007 11:41:00Come everybody, there’s a whole lot of shopping going on.
Got to get a.movin’, there's some pickin’ and some choosin’ to be done.
We’re goin’ crazy, we can’t be lazy, it’s only days we have left,
The rush has begun.
Come everybody, there’s a whole lot of shopping going on.
Got to get a.movin’, there's some pickin’ and some choosin’ to be done.
They’ve got the sizes at lovely prices,
I’m goin’ to buy these today, or they will be gone.
CHORUS
Can’t afford to stop, goin’ to pop into the shop before they close,
I’m rocking round the shops ‘til I drop, and it’s time to go home.
Come everybody, there’s a whole lot of shopping going on.
Got to get a.movin’, there's some pickin’ and some choosin’ to be done.
I’ve got a bargain for Uncle Marvin,
We are going to laugh when we see him try it on.
Come everybody, there’s a whole lot of shopping going on.
Got to get a.movin’, there's some pickin’ and some choosin’ to be done.
I’ve got some chocolates with lovely soft bits,
There was a box full, but now the top layers gone.
I’ve got a record for Auntie Ethel,
She’s rather deaf, but she still keeps jivin’ along.
Instrumental verse!
Come everybody, there’s a whole lot of shopping going on.
Got to get a.movin’, there's some pickin’ and some choosin’ to be done.
We’re goin’ crazy, we can’t be lazy, it’s only days we have left,
The rush has begun.
We’re goin’ crazy, we can’t be lazy, it’s only days we have left,
The rush has begun.
